QSA director Judith Moran director has been highly commended for Third Sector’s Charity Chief Executive of the Year award.
All of us at QSA pass on our warmest congratulations to the winner – Deborah Alsina – announced at the awards ceremony on 21 September 2017.
Nominating Judith (behind her back!) for this award, provided us with an opportunity to reflect upon her leadership at QSA and what she has achieved. We were struck by how QSA had changed under her tenure and in particular the following:
- A determination to demonstrate the impact of all of our charitable activities and to regularly fund external evaluations to ensure we’re fully accountable for our work
- A desire to make full use of the wonderful resource that is unrestricted income to ensure that we’re innovating and developing new ideas all the time, seeking to address new needs through research and development, and through solid partnerships.
- An understanding that poverty comes in different forms and requires a range of interventions, thus broadening the range of things we do to encompass. Furthermore, she has moved us beyond our practical projects, so we now share our learning through training and campaigning.
Above all, we are proud of how Judith leads QSA, as well as what she has achieved. Judith is someone who really cares, who exercises her power responsibly, who is collaborative in style but whose focus is unwaveringly on furthering our charitable purposes.
