Dear Friend,
Twenty-five years ago, I joined Quaker Social Action. I am as passionate about QSA today as I was back in 2000. In all this time I have never made a personal and direct appeal for financial support, but I feel called to do so now.
These are deeply challenging times for many charities, the waters are choppy, and steering our boat at QSA is no easy task. I have absolute confidence that we will navigate the storm, but this won’t be possible without your support.
QSA has an exceptional reputation for innovation, for setting up services that are distinctive and that make a genuine difference to the lives of thousands of people every year. None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our community, and for this I am very grateful.
We want to continue to be there for people struggling with funeral poverty; for people unable to cook for their family as they’re squeezed in a hotel room waiting for their asylum claim to be processed; for those who are isolated and on the streets, desperate for the connection and good conversation that our mobile library team offers.
And we want to continue to campaign to end systemic injustices – policies that need to shift if people are to survive and thrive and flourish.
It is never easy to ask for money while the cost of living crisis persists, and given the dreadful global events around us. I’m reaching out because our work has never been more needed – and neither has your donation. More than 1 in 5 people in the UK live in poverty, and the proportion of those in the deepest destitution is rising. If you can, please help us to take practical action.
Please support us now. Thank you.
In friendship,
Judith Moran
Director
