In this money guider-led session we will be exploring what ethical and boundaries issues come up in our roles and how we manage them. Hosted by the Money Guiders England Network.
The Money Guiders England Network is run by Quaker Social Action (QSA), an anti-poverty charity based in London.
QSA helps people on low incomes in east London and across the UK to seek solutions to the issues affecting their lives.
Founded 150 years ago by the religious group Quakers, today QSA is an independent charity inspired by Quaker values like equality in our work against poverty and injustice.
This session will focus on discussing ethical dilemmas that money guiders may face when working with vulnerable individuals, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining professional boundaries, including safeguarding.
This will be an opportunity for attendees to
- Discuss the signs that there may be a safeguarding issue and the causes of safeguarding issues in general
- Share how to deal with a safeguarding issue, the policies that you use and the places that you signpost people to
- Learn from other money guiders - by getting insights and resources from fellow money guiders including tools that they are using to help them in carrying out their role
Why attend this event
1. To learn from and network with other money guiders
2. To share best practice
3. Provide a safe space for learning and peer support
Who is leading the workshop
Jez Smith, network lead for the Money Guiders England Network and Lucille Roache, a development worker for QSA and a business coach.
