QSA has recently extended its commitment to money guiders across England in partnership with the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) for 18 months through the continued delivery and growth of the networked learning community, Money Guiders England Network.
Through this work, QSA has worked with MaPS to grow and nurture the community from scratch and today supports almost 4,000 staff and volunteers at over 600 organisations with monthly learning opportunities, networking and sharing knowledge, skills and experience with each other. Since beginning delivery in partnership with MaPS in 2021, QSA has hosted or co-hosted almost 100 events, with hundreds of individuals taking part and going on to share their learning with thousands of others.
During the first three years of delivery of the Money Guiders England Network, QSA has worked with a wide range of organisations to deliver digital and in person learning, including Action for Happiness, Association of British Credit Unions, Citizens Advice, Department for Work and Pensions, England Illegal Money Lending Team, Independent Food Aid Network, National Energy Action, Trussell Trust and many more.
The events are usually linked to the MaPS Money Guiders Competency Framework, which includes technical domain areas such as households, budgeting & cashflow, welfare benefits and planning for later life.
The Money Guiders England Network is one of 4 networks for each of the UK’s nations and those networks are part of a wider offer by the Money and Pensions Service to support the delivery of money guidance across the UK, including tools such as the competency framework, a partnership programme for organisations and e-learning.
If you ever assist people who need help with money issues, you could be giving money guidance. You can join the network by registering here [external link] for free.
