Report to be published next week, setting out the approach and impact of this distinctive wellbeing programme.
Next week Quaker Social Action (QSA) will be celebrating 10 years of This Way Up, our free resilience and wellbeing programme for people living on a low income. Since 2012 this innovative and unique project has run six-week intensive programmes – twice per year – consisting of mindfulness-based resilience group training, alongside one-to-one life coaching.
In alignment with QSA’s overall mission, This Way Up seeks to help people on a low income – in east London and beyond – to seek their own solutions to their life challenges, to activate their inner potential, and to move towards their goals.
Over the last decade, This Way Up has helped more than 500 people. Since it began, demand for the service has grown. It also expanded its service to include online sessions during the pandemic, a men-only introductory trial course and a drop-in service for past participants.
Next week, at a celebratory event in central London on 9 March (this event is fully booked) QSA will be launching a detailed report setting out the rationale, approach and impact of This Way Up. Within this publication, voices of people who have participated in This Way Up over the years are prominent. The report will be available on our website from Friday 10 March.
