Whilst not a Quaker, Julie is inspired by Quaker values and excited to be part of QSA’s amazing work.
She believes that the combination of practical projects that make a real difference to people, and influencing change on national issues, is key to tackling social justice.
A long-standing interest and commitment to social justice was solidified when Julie recently returned to studying, completing a Masters in Understanding and Securing Human Rights at the University of London. She now splits her time between QSA and one other trusteeship, volunteering in her local community, and using her new research skills to further the understanding of equality and human rights in the UK.
Before this, Julie worked briefly in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including a posting to India, followed by a career in human resources management in the private and, subsequently, not-for-profit sectors.
