Annapurna joined the board of QSA in 2024. She worked in grassroots non-profits in women’s rights and health rights in the 1980s and as a community English language teacher and public service translator in French, Spanish and German while also being active in environmental and international advocacy and in campaigns such as reproductive rights. She then qualified as a solicitor and worked as a litigation lawyer before becoming a legal academic focussing on inequality, discrimination, human rights, poverty and injustice, and using the law to shape social change. Annapurna has brought up three children and for many years was involved in the local community-led after-school childcare club. She has lived and worked abroad in Europe and India and is a Trustee of the Discrimination Law Association. She highly values QSA’s practical approach to addressing poverty, inequality and injustice.
