As the dust settles on the General Election, and the new Government beds in, we share how 4in10 London’s Child Poverty Network has provided parliamentarians with the information they need to tackle child poverty in the city from the get-go. Immediately after the election we sent all the newly elected/re-elected MPs this briefing examining the causes and impact of child poverty and setting out what needs to be done to realise our aim of a child poverty free London.
The briefing was accompanied by factsheets highlighting key data for each of the 75 London constituencies. Over the coming months we will be following up with MPs individually to seek to build relationships with them so that we can support them over the course of the Parliament to ensure that the national Child Poverty Strategy that the new Government has committed to putting in place delivers the change that London’s children so urgently need.
