Emily is the Research and Learning Officer for 4in10, London’s Child Poverty Network.
Emily has been researching children’s lives and experiences across the UK for over 10 years. Her work has focused at different times on the impact of war, cultures of play and family life, the impact of human rights law on everyday life, London parents’ experiences of accessing childcare, how poverty and social exclusion impacts children as well as how migration and education can shape children’s ability to participate and feel belonging in society.
Emily is also experienced in charity administration and particularly fundraising and impact within the third sector. Emily’s current role also gives her the opportunity to meet with and help provide training and information resources to people working across London in VCS organisations who are the frontline of responding to the harm cause by the poverty and inequality that exists all throughout London.
Emily has a BA in history and later earned an MA in European History from King’s College London and was awarded a Phd in Education from the University of Greenwich.
Outside of work, Emily loves a long walk by the sea or up a mountain or getting busy baking something sweet in the kitchen.
