Are you a professional working with young adult carers?
We’re hosting a free online session for professionals to learn more about our unique Move on Up housing project in London.
3 November 2021 | 14:00 to 15:00
Move on Up provides high quality, affordable, shared accommodation to young adults aged 18 to 25 years who do unpaid care for a family member, or have done a substantial amount of caring in the past, and want to have the opportunity to move out of the family home.
Our tenants benefit from living in a high-quality home shared with two other young adult carers, with regular one-to-one support to help them move towards their goals. We have four properties, each with three bedrooms, in north and east London.
An independent evaluation, conducted by the Learning and Work Institute, found that the project is having a positive impact on residents, including providing respite from caring, improved relationships with family members and improved outcomes in learning and employment.
"They make sure you are alright. Make sure you’re on top of things. It’s good to know your next step, your next move. I’ve got my priorities sorted."
