About the bands
Snakestock House Band
The Snakestock House Band are a musical collective which formed to play the rivers and canals of the capital. Founded by Jake ‘The Snake’ Kirner, each summer you’ll find them on various boats across London performing an uplifting mix of soul, blues and pop via guitars, horns and fiddle.
Martin John
Martin John is an experienced singer-songwriter and performer with over twenty years’ experience of live music. As well as his own material he has a repertoire of over 200 classic songs. He specialises in engaging the audience, bringing songs to life through creative medleys. His styles include pop, rock, soul and folk.
About Word on the Water
Word on the Water is London’s famous floating bookshop. Situated in a 1920s Dutch barge behind King's Cross at Granary Square, it has a fantastic range of high quality books; friendly dogs; and it regularly hosts poetry and live music on its stage roof.
About Turn a Corner
Turn a Corner is a library and so much more for people experiencing street homelessness. We offer:
* Books for mental health and stimulation (no proof of address needed, unlike regular libraries).
* Much-needed connection, safety and conversation
* Essential practical support and information
* Daily necessities like sleeping bags, toiletries and suncream
The Turn a Corner van will be in attendance, with our friendly team on hand to chat about the growing issue of street homelessness – and what we all can do to help.
