About the speakers
Evie King is a council funeral arranger and author of the forthcoming book Get Ahead of Being Dead. Her first book, Ashes to Admin, about her day job, has sold over 10,000 copies and was selected by Stewart Lee for the London Review of Books ‘one hundred books for the next twenty years’ collection.
Sophie Clarke has 13 years’ experience in the funeral industry and co-manages Quaker Social Action’s Down to Earth service — the only UK-wide charity supporting people struggling with funeral costs. She leads their online resources and helpline, which have helped over 9,000 people plan meaningful and affordable funerals.
