Overview of Turn a Corner
Turn a Corner is a mobile community library for people affected by homelessness in London. It serves three central London locations, providing free books and reading materials, as well as essential items such as sleeping bags and reading glasses.
Our team of staff and volunteers provide a warm welcome and sense of community to all our visitors.

How to make a donation using the SumUp machine at Word on the Water
1. Donations can be made by selecting a standard payment amount: £2.50, £5, £7.50 or £10.
2. Press the amount onscreen that you wish to donate, and tap your card on the machine to make contactless payment.
Occasionally you may be asked to insert your card and enter your PIN. To do this, please gently lift back the folding lid to gain access to the top of the card reader where your bank card can be inserted.
If you require any assistance, please speak to a Word on the Water staff member.
3. Wait for the transaction to process. Once this is completed, you have the option of receiving a receipt in one of the following ways:
- Scanning the QR code
- Entering your email address to receive an email receipt
- Entering your mobile phone number to receive a receipt by text.
4. Give yourself a pat on the back for supporting a great cause!
If you encounter any issues in using the donation station at Word on the Water, please speak to a member of staff and ask for the assistance of the manager.
Donation information and contacts
Purpose of donation: 100% of donations will go towards the running costs of Turn a Corner, a service of Quaker Social Action (Charity No.1069157 and Company No.3524063), and are restricted for this service alone.
Processing Fees: There are no processing fees associated with these donations.

- Marvin Wallace - responsible for management of the associated account at Quaker Social Action.
