Pen is an experienced Trustee and Board member with many years’ experience in the charity sector.
Currently the Chair of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists, trustee of the National Coal Mining Museum for England, Bradford Equity Partnership and the Association for Industrial Archaeology, Pen specialises in change management, mentoring early careers people, supporting organisations with EDI work, and management of large-scale projects.
They are a former archaeologist turned project manager and heritage professional, working as a senior adviser for Historic England and managing national projects that improve accessibility and inclusion to heritage. They are a passionate advocate for improving access to heritage careers, volunteering, and participation for disabled people, as well as highlighting and showcasing working class heritage through community-led projects.
In their spare time they are an avid collector of bricks, especially from West Yorkshire, and dabbles as a synthesizer musician. Pen has been a Quaker attender for over ten years, currently at Bradford Meeting.
