Laura gives her time voluntarily as a trustee for QSA
Laura has more than 15 years experience in the charity sector, specifically as a grant-maker.
Her roles have included that of programme manager at Comic Relief where she oversaw work in the areas of Fairer Society and Dementia.
She is currently grants executive at the Bromley Trust which focuses on human rights, prison reform and the environment.
Quaker values and personal committment
Laura was drawn to QSA partly through her long term commitment to the Quaker values of peace, justice, equality and integrity.
She attends Croydon meeting.
As a passionate supporter of a range of charities and organisations, particularly within the human rights and mental health fields, Laura also spends time as a Trustee for Mind in Croydon and has an MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights.

What do you think it takes to be a good trustee?
"Passion for the work and a willingness to engage with the business of governance."
What is most challenging about being a Trustee?
"You have to be prepared to say no sometimes, and that's not always easy, even if it's the right course of action."
Why did you become a QSA trustee?
"To help make a positive difference in the world."
What has been the highlight for you of being a QSA trustee?
"There are highlights all the time. The staff and projects are truly fantastic."
