A flatshare is where two or more people live in a property together.
In Move On Up, you have your own bedroom, while sharing the kitchen, bathroom and other communal spaces.
Why share?
Sharing is cheaper than renting your own place. If you live in a 1 bed flat you still need a bathroom, kitchen and living room. By sharing you split the cost of these extra rooms. Sharing makes it possible to live in a better property or in a better area than you could afford on your own.
It can also be a great way to live. The social benefits of sharing can be a real advantage, and with Move On Up you’ll be living with people your age with whom we hope you’ll form a strong community.
Who will I be sharing with?
Probably people just like you. Move On Up is open to people between the ages of 18 – 25, who currently or previously have cared for someone.
Connecting all of you is the motivation to move on in your lives, and you’ll all have personalised support focused on achieving your goals.
Are there any concerns with sharing?
Any form of shared accommodation has some risks. However, Move On Up takes a rigorous approach to recruiting new residents, and we work with you to find the right match for your home. You’ll be supported by dedicated Move On Up staff, who are there to help with any problem that might arise.
